Freezone is pleased to announce the annual xx volleyball tournament is back - Date xx !!
Registrations are open and we are offering places for Mens, Mixed, & Womens Divisions. The final numbers of teams registered may change the divisions available and the number of teams playing in each. This popular event will be guaranteed to sell out again, so teams must register early and pay the team fee to guarantee their place.
Team captains/admin must register & set up their team details first and pay the team registration fee of $300 per team using the specific ticket for that grade. They can also list the player names for each team.
Team entries will close 1 week prior to the tournament, unless the maximum number of team registrations in each division is reached earlier. All team entries MUST be fully paid for or they will not be accepted into the tournament. Late entries **could be** be refused if the tournament is sold out earlier. *subject to change & number of teams.
All captains are required to verify and check that ALL players are SVNSW members. SVNSW may require players to pay an additional fee ($20) to register for the tournament if they are not already members. In the the case of interstate teams, all Players must be registrered in their state volleyball association otherwise players will not be allowed to play.

Get into the spirit and fun of the tournament, because there will be prize for the team with the best uniform in the tournament (to be judged by the tournament committee) and for the team with the best cheer/choreograpy. All teams are encouraged to incorporate a rainbow color scheme in their uniform. Show your support for the LGBTQI community and create your own team rainbow! See FAQ for more information.

FAQs - Team and Player Registrations.
Step 1. Team Captains / Managers ... How does a team register ?
Team captains will need to register for each team, buy a team ticket for that Division, fill in required details, and pay the fee.
Step 2. How do I pay for team registration?
After you register for the event, you will get an invoice sent.
We will accept payment by credit card as the preferred option - either via the Invoice, or via the Square payment app.
Step 3. Extra Players .... How does a team add more players (ie. 7th, 8th, 9th ...) ?
The team captain will be able to email the event director, and update player names for that team before the event.
Can a single player register without a team?

Freezone will attempt to make up teams of players who are not playing in teams, however we make no guarantee and accept no responsibility to do this on behalf of individuals.
What is the refund & player transfer policy?
Team captains will be able to substitute & transfer player names & details for their team up until 48hrs before the event. Any changes on the day are to be approved by the tournament director. Full team refunds will be allowed up to 7 days before the event, and after this time a $50 cancellation fee will be applied.

What are the Duty team requirements?
Duty teams must provide 1 x 1st & 2nd referee; 1 scorer and 2 x line judges.
ALL teams are required to be available ALL day for Umpiring Duty, up to & including the Gold medal games, please check the final draw sheet or ask the tournament directors.
Do players need to be members of SVNSW?
Yes, Freezone is an affiliated club with SVNSW and we are required to check that ALL players are SVNSW members (or the interstate equivalent). SVNSW may require players to pay an additional fee to register for the tournament if they are not already members for the current year. SVNSW might contact players who are not registered to check their status.

Will the tournament be using FIVB rules?
In this competition, the emphasis is on enjoyment, social atmosphere and skill development. All games shall be played as per the Official Volleyball Rules of FIVB, except to the extent that they are negated or modified by these Tournament rules. All rules are open to the interpretation of the referee/supervisor and their decision is final. Unlimited subs rule will be allowed, this is a social compeition. Are there rules for the Mixed Division?
Mixed Teams Division - MUST have at least 2 female players and there MUST be 2 female players on court at all times. If a team ceases to have at least 2 female players due to injuries/unforeseen circumstances (to be approved by the tournament director), the team may substitute the missing female player with a male player, but he will be prohibited from blocking, jump serving and attacking the ball above the top of the net.
Can my team enter the best team uniform competition?
There is a prize for the team with the best uniform in the tournament (to be judged by the tournament committee). All teams are encouraged to incorporate a rainbow color scheme in their uniform. Show your support for the LGBTI community and create your own rainbow! See FAQ for more information. “Best” is defined by the being the most innovative, funny and coordinated based on a common theme. Please consider the issue of safety while preparing your team’s uniform. Uniforms involving dangerous items such as necklaces, rings, thongs etc. are not recommended to be worn on court while playing.
Will teams be moved up/down a Division by the Tournament Referee & Committee?
At the discretion of the tournament committee and in consultation with the team captain, teams may be asked to play to in a higher or lower division depending on the skills and capacity of players. The number of teams registered will determine the number and length of games played – it is Freezone’s aim to provide as many pool games on the day as possible, plus a semi-final and/or final match.
What net heights will be used in the tournament?
All Mixed and Men’s matches play on 2.43m net height. Womens nets will be set as per FIVB height for that division.
