🏐 From; Melbourne Spikers - Summer Slam Tournament – Early Access for Freezone Members 🏐

We’re excited to announce that our next Summer Slam Tournament is locked in for Saturday, 24th January 2026, right in the heart of the Australia Day Long Weekend!

As a valued sister club, Freezone members are being offered exclusive early access to tickets starting 12pm today (Wednesday, 8th October 2025) until 12pm Wednesday, 5th November 2025 — a full 4-week priority window before tickets go live to our members and the general public.

Tickets always sell out fast, so we highly recommend locking your team in early if you're planning to attend!

Important Dates:

• Today: Early access opens for interstate clubs
• 22/10 - 2 weeks: Tickets open to Melbourne Spikers members
• 5/11 - 4 weeks: Tickets open to the general public

• Last Wednesday - 10th December 2025. Back on court again 14th January 2026. 
• Last Sunday - 14th December 2025. Back again in 2026 on 18th January 2026.

I was priveleged to be invited by VNSW to attend the Pride in Sport Summit 2025 at UNSW. There was a vibrant and diverse gathering of athletes, coaches, administrators, and advocates, all united by a shared commitment to making sport more inclusive.

The atmosphere was energising, with ideas and passion flowing freely, reinforcing the belief that sport can be a space where everyone truly belongs. There was an inspiring lineup of guest speakers, and each speaker brought unique insights and stories that challenged, uplifted, and motivated attendees to continue driving change in their communities. Overall, the day was a powerful reminder of the strength found in diversity and the impact of collective action in reimagining sport for all.

Thank you for making the Spring Fling 2025 such a vibrant and unforgettable celebration of volleyball, inclusion, and community spirit! The tournament brought together a fantastic mix of teams across Mens B+ and B grade divisions. The energy on and off the court was electric, with every match showcasing high passion, skills and sportsmanship.

🏆 Division Highlights:

• Mens B+: The Crown def Rainbow Unicorns to take home the title after a nail-biting final that had some of the best volleyball rallies we have seen at a tournament in recent times. 
• Mens B:  QF Big Guns def Big Dig Energy where both teams impressed with teamwork and skills at the end of a long day. 

🎉 Event Highlights:

• A strong turnout from local and interstate teams (Melb).
• High-energy matches and great vibes all day
• A celebration of diversity, inclusion, and fun

We’re thrilled to announce that, in celebration of Sydney Mardi Gras 2026, Freezone Volleyball and the City of Sydney will be hosting a two-day social volleyball tournament at Perry Park Recreation Centre!

Tournament Dates

Saturday 21 & Sunday 22 February 2026

• Saturday: Men’s & Women’s Competitions
• Sunday: Mixed Competition
• Format: Round robin games followed by finals
• Prizes for Best Dressed Team!
